Arckaringa is a world-class hydrocarbon deposit. Hydrocarbons are the building blocks for literally thousands of products. The many families of products which can be produced from the raw hydrocarbon material include: feedstock for fertilisers and plastics, methanol and synthetic clean burning fuels.
Altona’s approach is to start with a base case, which can evolve once infrastructure is established. Future direction and development will be guided in part by the outcome of the BFS and the decisions of the Arckaringa Joint Venture. Certainly, the coal resource is large enough to sustain a number of value adding projects for many generations to come.
