Jones talks to Peter Fagiano, chair of Altona Energy, about their statement that SA's Arckaringa Basin could provide transport fuel security. Fagiano says they are planning to produce a number of fuels from the area, primarily diesel. He says that the production could be cheap, and he thinks that this could lead to lower fuel prices in SA. Fagiano says that they would aim at primarily servicing the domestic market with only surplus sold overseas. He says that they could complete preliminary processes, including consultancy and applying to PESA, by 2012 and that the project could be up and running in 2016. Fagiano says that Jones asked Bill Repard about the availability of resources in SA, and that they're proposing a solution by building infrastructure off site in Adelaide. He says that this will be a big improvement and that this could be used for the Broken Hill and Olympic Dam projects too.
