The Federal Government has revealed plans to open up the Woomera Prohibited Area for mining. A review into the future management of the area has shown there's potential for more than $35b in mining developments over the next decade. Defence will remain the primary user of the site and the area will be divided into zones.
Altona Energy says a proposed mining project in the Arckaringa Basin could reduce diesel prices. Peter Fagiano, Chairman, Altona Energy says the annual production of diesel will be about 10 million barrels.
